een heel speciaal kado / a very special present.........

Dit kado kwam helemaal uit Arizona........de rechter muis met kaas..........met nog meer prachtige dingen erbij .........

naaldenmapje / needle holder

Een vriendin liet me een naaldenmapje zien en vroeg of ik er 2 voor haar wilde maken.  Ik heb snel een foto gemaakt (mijn vriendin woont in het buitenland) en na een paar dagen wilde ik er aan beginnen. Na wat gepuzzel had ik door hoe het in elkaar zit en vandaag heb ik er dan eentje gemaakt om het te proberen.

A friend showed me a needle-holder and asked me if I wanted to make 2 for her. I quickly took a picture (my friend lives abroad) and after a couple of days I wanted to start with it. I had to puzzle a bit to find out how it is done and today I made one as a try-out.

eerst heb ik dit getekend / first I drew this

deze manier van naaien van de stoffen vind ik makkelijker dan 2 uitgeknipte vormen / I think it is easier to sew the fabric this way instead of 2 cut shapes

de stoffen zijn omgedraaid naar de goede kant en de naad is gespeld om te voorkomen dat het naar binnen trekt / de fabrics have been turned good side outside and I pinned the seam to avoid the fabric pulling the seam inside 

gestikt laagje wolvilt voor de naalden / stitched woolfelt layer for the needles 

Klittenband voor de sluiting / velco to close

 vouwen in een hartvorm / folding into a heart-shape
voor je dit doet eerst checken of de 2 klittenband delen wel bij elkaar komen!  before you do this first check if the 2 velco-parts come together!

et voila!  

wat heb ik geleerd?  what did I learn?   

• de volgende keer maak ik het stukje stof voor de sluiting wat ronder en ook neem ik een niet-zelfklevend klittenband

• next time I'll make the piece of fabric to close the heart a bit rounder and I won't use self-adhesive velco. 

•  mogelijk vouwt het beter als je acrylvilt gebruikt en geen wolvilt; nu is het een beetje dik

• it is possible that when using acrylfelt instead of woolfelt the shape will fold better; it is a bit thick now

Het was leuk om te doen.......................nu nog een paar maken!

frummeltje in blik / little friend in tin

In mijn laatse post schreef ik dat ik een beertje moest maken voor "onze kleine meid". Ze is niet echt van ons, ze is de dochter van mijn broer die bij ons woont. Meisje wordt 12 maar is nog een klein meisje.
Een beertje is het niet geworden omdat ik van alle stukjes mohair die ik nog heb liggen net niet genoeg had. Frummeltje is gemaakt van een ministof en dat is handig want die stof rafelt niet.

Het blikje komt uit de kringloop en is bekleed met een rode mohair met een oranje backing. Op de buitenkant is een rondje kant gemaakt.

Frummeltje is 7 cm zonder hoedje en heeft 5 scharniertjes; ook kan Frummeltje los staan.

Ik heb een patroon gebruikt van de pagina FREE PATTERNS; kijk maar even of er iets voor je bij zit bij de mini's als je dat leuk vindt.

In my last post I wrote that I had to make a bear for "our little girl". She is not really ours, she is the daughter of my brother who lives with us. Little girl will become 12 but she still is a little girl.
I didn't make a bear because all the peices of mohair I have were too small. Frummeltje (the name of the little friend) is made of mini-fabric and that fabric doesn't raffle.

I found the tin (can) in a second-hand shop and added red mohair with an orange backing inside. On the outside I made a circle of lace.

Frummeltje measures 7 cm / 2,8 inches without the hat; it is 5-way disc-jointed and can stand alone.

I used a pattern from my page FREE PATTERNS; if you like you can have a look under mini's if there is a pattern you can use .
