Mini quilt nr. 4 and bear in progress

Het 4e huisje is ook af!  Het is echt ter plekke bedacht en ik vroeg me af hoeveel huisjes ik kan bedenken.  Het blijft spannend!

House nr. 4 is finished too!  I designed it while working and was wondering how many houses I can design.  It is very exciting!

Ook ben ik begonnen aan een nieuwe beer; het is een mooie alpaca die ik kreeg van Kornelia! Leuk!


I've also started with a new bear; it is a beautiful alpaca which was a present from Kornelia. Nice!

Deze week zal ik me echt niet vervelen!  This week I'm won't get bored at all!

mini quiltje nr. 3

Het 2e quiltje is ook gemaakt. Deze keer gebruikte ik Japanse stofjes en het thema was: the sky is the limit.
Het zal me benieuwen hoeveel ik er uiteindelijk zal maken om samen te voegen! Voorlopig denk ik: elke week een huisje........!

The second mini-quilt is finished too. This time I used Japanese fabrics and the theme was:  the sky is the limit.
I'm curious how many I shall have made in the end to join them together in a quilt At this moment I think:  every week a house.....!

Dit mini quiltje was een probeersel met een applicatie-techniek.  Het was leuk om te doen.
This mini-quilt was a try-out and it was fun to do.

De mini-quilt is af!  Het was zo leuk om te maken!  The mini-quilt is finished. It was so much fun!

 
 Ik heb een malletje gemaakt om cirkels te borduren. I used a piece of card-board to embroider circles.

Ik heb de stof van de achterkant gebruikt om de rand te maken / I used the backing to make the border. 

Hij is niet helemaal recht / it is a bit out of line : ))))) 

Weer iets geleerd!  I learned something again! 

mini quiltje

Omdat de complementaire kleuren quilt wacht op een mooie stof voor de achterkant en de binding ben ik begonnen aan een mini-quiltje.  Het zijn weer vierkantjes met de hand aan elkaar gezet volgens de "oude English paper-piecing" methode.  Deze beschrijving vond ik in een van mijn boeken.

De witte rand is gemaakt van linnen en wordt nog geborduurd. Helaas zag ik dat mijn batting op is maar dat is een goede reden om naar een quiltwinkel te gaan!
Er komt nog een binding om.

Because the complementairy quilt is waiting for a nice fabric for the back and the binding I've put it away for the moment. I've started a mini-quilt "in between".  It are squares again and reading in my books I noticed I'm using the "old English paper-piecing" method. 

The white border is a linen and I want to embroider on it. I found out I'm out of batting but that's a perfect reason to visit a quiltshop! 
I will also add a binding to the mini-quilt.
